- European markets opened higher
- German ZEW index on the agenda
- 4 Fed members scheduled to speak
European stock market indices launched today’s cash trading session higher. Markets are trying to catch a breath after yesterday’s sell-off – S&P 500 futures (US500) climbed back above 4,000 pts mark, Bitcoin recovered from drop below $30,000 and German DAX (DE30) is trading above 13,500 pts again.
Economic calendar for the day ahead is light. German ZEW is the sole noteworthy print scheduled for the European morning. It may have some impact on EUR should we see a large miss or beat but this impact is likely to be short-term only. The same can be said about API report on oil inventories with regard to oil. However, there is a number of Fed members scheduled for the afternoon that may provide volatility on USD market. Among today’s earnings reporters one can find Peleton,
10:00 am BST – Germany, ZEW index for May. Expected: -42.5. Previous: -41.0
9:40 pm BST – API report on oil inventories. Expected: -1.20 mb. Previous: -3.48 mb
