China Car Sales Rise 14.7% in July
China’s vehicle sales increased by 14.7% year-on-year in July 2025, following a 13.8% rise in June, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) soared 27.4% in July, marking the fifth consecutive monthly increase. In the first seven months of 2025, total vehicle sales rose 12.0%, with NEV sales surging 38.5%. Earlier, CAAM had forecast car sales to grow by 4.7% to reach 32.9 million units, with NEV sales expected to rise by 24.4% to 16 million units. Last year, total vehicle sales grew by 4.5% to 31.436 million units, a sharp slowdown from the 12% rise recorded in 2023.
