Business confidence in the Netherlands fell to -5 in June 2025 from -3.9 in May, sinking further below its twenty-year average of -1.3. This marked the lowest level since December 2023, mainly due to reduced optimism among industrial producers about future production (2.3 vs 4.3 in May). At the same time, firms grew more pessimistic about order books (-11.1 vs -9.6), while sentiment toward finished product stocks was slightly less negative (-6.3 vs -6.4). Producer confidence was negative in almost all sectors, with manufacturers in the metal industry the most pessimistic. Only producers in the textile, clothing, and leather industry remained positive in June.
