Dutch Manufacturing Output Drops in June

Manufacturing production in the Netherlands decreased by 0.1% month-over-month in June 2025, reversing a downwardly revised 0.4% rise in May. Output declined across several industries, with the sharpest falls in pharmaceuticals (-12% vs 9.4% in May), basic metals (-10.1% vs 9.4%), automotive and trailers (-6.4% vs -0.1%), furniture (-4.7% vs -0.2%), other transportation equipment (-3.3% vs 0.9%), wood (-2.4% vs 2.1%), paper (-2.8% vs -0.8%), and graphics (-5.5% vs 2.7%). Conversely, production rebounded in electrical equipment (4.4% vs -3.3%), food (0.8% vs -1.4%), clothing (0.3% vs -0.6%), chemicals (1% vs -1.8%), and rubber and plastics (1% vs -0.6%), while it increased further in machinery (1.5% vs 1%). On a yearly basis, manufacturing output dropped by 0.2% in June, after a 0.8% gain in the previous month.
