German Wholesale Prices Rise the Most in 3 Months

Wholesale prices in Germany rose by 0.9% year-on-year in June 2025, accelerating sharply from a 0.4% gain in the previous month and marking the fastest increase since March. It also registered the seventh consecutive month of annual growth, driven by higher prices for food, beverages, and tobacco (4.2%). Notable surges were seen in prices for coffee, tea, cocoa, and spices (26.2%), sugar and bakery products (18.2%), and dairy and edible fats (8.8%). Prices for non-ferrous ores and metals also jumped 20.5%. In contrast, declines were recorded for solid fuels and mineral oil products (-5.9%), iron, steel and ferrous semi-finished metal products (-5.4%), and computers and related equipment (-5.0%). On a monthly basis, wholesale prices increased 0.2%, matching market consensus reversing a 0.3% fall in May.
