Malaysia Jobless Rate Stays at Over 10-Year Low
Malaysia’s unemployment rate declined to 3.0% in June 2025 from 3.3% in the same month a year earlier, marking its lowest level since April 2015 for the third consecutive month. The number of unemployed persons dropped by 6.3% year-on-year to a more than five-year low of 518.7 thousand, while employment increased by 3.0% to a record high of 16.92 million. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate climbed to an all-time high of 70.8% in June, up from 70.6% a year earlier, marking the third consecutive month at this record level.
