Singapore Manufacturing Output Growth Quickens to 7-Month High
Singapore’s manufacturing production increased by 8% year-on-year in June 2025, accelerating from a downwardly revised 3.6% rise in May and beating market expectations of a 7.1% gain. This marked the strongest expansion since November 2024, driven by increases in output for electronics (6.6% vs 3.4% in May), biomedical manufacturing (11.3% vs 4.6%), chemicals (1.1% vs 0.3%), and precision engineering (18.9% vs 11%). In contrast, growth in transport engineering slowed significantly (9.2% vs 25.6%), while output in the general manufacturing industries contracted further (-11.6% vs -8.7%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, manufacturing output was flat in June, following a revised 1% growth in May.
