Spain GDP Growth Confirmed at 0.6% in Q1
The Spanish economy grew by 0.6% quarter-on-quarter in the first three months of 2025, matching the preliminary estimate but slightly below the 0.7% expansion recorded in the previous quarter. Domestic demand contributed 0.5 percentage points to growth, while external demand added 0.1 points.
On the expenditure side, household consumption increased by 0.6% and gross fixed capital formation rose by 0.9%. Exports grew by 1.7% and imports increased by 1.6% while government consumption shrank 0.4%. On the production side, the industrial sector jumped 1%, of which manufacturing grew 0.8%. In addition, services rose 0.2%, construction went up 0.4% and the primary sector soared 8.2%. Year-on-year, the GDP grew 2.8%, matching the preliminary estimate, and below 3.3% in Q4 2024.
