Sweden July Inflation Confirmed at 0.8%
Sweden’s annual inflation rate inched up to 0.8% in July 2025, in line with preliminary estimates, from 0.7% in the previous month. This was the highest reading since February, though it remained well below the Riksbank’s 2% target. Prices increased for recreation and culture (5.06% vs 4.04% in June), education (4.25% vs 4.09%), and health (2.79% vs 1.95%), while costs rebounded for communication (0.64% vs -1.34%). Conversely, inflation eased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.05% vs 5.33%), clothing and footwear (2.36% vs 2.85%), restaurants and hotels (3.06% vs 4.62%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.66% vs 4.37%). Price declines were also observed in housing and utilities (-3.43% vs -4.15%) and transport (-2.72% vs -2.33%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew by 0.2%, confirming initial estimates, slowing from a 0.5% rise in June.
