Turkey Trade Deficit Narrows to 9-Month Low

Turkey’s trade deficit narrowed to USD 6.4 billion in July 2025, from USD 7.3 billion in the same month of the previous year, according to preliminary estimates from the Trade Ministry. This marked the smallest shortfall since October 2024, as exports climbed by 11% year-on-year to an all-time high of USD 25 billion, while imports increased at a softer pace of 5.4% to USD 31.4 billion. Over the first seven months of the year, the country recorded a trade deficit of USD 55.86 billion, with exports up 5.2% and imports rising by 6.9%.
