Turkish Business Confidence Rises to Three-Month High

Turkey’s manufacturing industry confidence index edged up to 100.6 in August 2025 from 100.2 in the previous month, reaching its highest level since May. The improvement was mainly supported by stronger sentiment on the current amount of stocks of finished goods (102.1 vs. 98.7), total amount of orders over the past three months (100.1 vs. 96.0), and the general business situation (91.5 vs. 86.3). However, forward-looking indicators showed signs of softening. Expectations for the volume of output over the next three months eased (116.1 vs. 119.2), alongside weaker outlooks for employment (100.2 vs. 102.2) and exports (112.3 vs. 112.7). Fixed investment expenditure (102.6 vs. 106.0) also softened, while the gauge for the current total amount of orders (80.3 vs. 80.9) slipped further into contractionary territory.
