Spain’s economy grew by 0.6% quarter-on-quarter in Q3 2026, in line with expectations but easing from 0.7% in the previous quarter, according to preliminary estimates. The figures highlighted continued economic resilience despite rising inflationary pressures. Household consumption increased by 0.6%, while public spending rose 0.9%. Fixed investment remained subdued, growing just 0.1%. Net trade also supported growth, as exports rose 1.3%, outpacing the 1.1% increase in imports. On the supply side, industrial output and services both expanded by 0.7%, while construction activity was broadly unchanged. Year-on-year, GDP grew by 2.7%, also matching expectations. Earlier this month, Spain’s central bank maintained its positive outlook, forecasting growth of 2.6% in 2026, matching the pace recorded in 2025, before slowing to 2.2% in 2027. Strong private consumption and exports are expected to underpin activity despite risks from inflation, geopolitical tensions and rising bond yields.
