Egypt’s annual urban inflation eased for the third straight month to 12.7% in October 2026 from 13.9% in September. It was the lowest inflation rate since January, as the impact of higher fuel prices continued to fade. Egypt raised fuel prices in early March by about 14% to 17% across a wide range of petroleum products, marking the first increase of the year amid elevated global oil prices. In March, inflation accelerated to a ten-month high of 15.2%. Egypt’s Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rostom said the latest figure reflected easing inflationary pressures and improved price stability.
